Yours & Mine. Mine & Yours. Mine & Mine. If you are married you know exactly what I'm sayin'. Wife & what the Husband thinks is his...ect. So here goes.
Two years ago we replaced the siding on our house. We went from a wood (painted red) to concrete (primer). In the past two years I have not given much thought to what color I wanted to paint the house. Seriously, not on the top of my to do list. Last Wednesday my dear old husband calls me while I am at work and announces that WE needed to pick a color to paint the house because he has hired the Amish to do it and they are coming on Tuedsay. (I pretty much hate to admit this next part) I'm kind of like my dad in the fact that it takes me a little while to get used to the idea of something and there are SO many paint colors to chose from and I have less than a week. A little stressful.
So on Friday, WE are getting ready to go to the paint store to get paint. I already know that I do not want a red house. So that at least eliminated one color section and leaves --oh about 100 more to sort through! On the way there the husband has decided, DECIDED!!!!!, he wants a blue house. I'm warming up to the various shades of green.
We walk in the door and the nice sales lady comes over to help us and all I can think is "Go away and don't rush me" After looking at several, and I mean several, options we have it narrowed down to a blue and a green. Yours & Mine. Somewhere between putting it on the house and taking a step back to look at the colors-- someone had decided they picked the green. Go figure. Let's say the blue is a "can not miss it" and the green is more of a "these people might have a slight sense of style" Living in the country we (I) strive for the second option.
All of the women reading this knew when it started that the story would end like this didn't ya? But that's okay because I got what I wanted--a green house. Life is good.
Bacon Chicken Wraps
2 chicken breast boneless, skinless
6 pieces of bacon
1/2 c. cheese-- any kind you want
4 T. monteal steak seasonsing (yes I know I'm using chicken--trust me!)
Heat grill.
Pound out chicken breast until 1/4 in. thin. Sprinkle each and both sides with seasoning. Down the middle of the breast place cheese. Roll up tightly and wrap with bacon. Try to cover the ends and the seam. Secure bacon with tooth pick. Transfer to grill--cheese will ooze out-- cook until done. We usually do around 400 for about 15 minutes TOTAL.
This is probably our FAVORITE summer supper. We love it. I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.
Happy Eating,
H.M.M
